Microchannel Coils
Microchannel Coils Overview
Microchannel heat exchangers are compact, lightweight, and high-efficiency heat-transfer solutions custom-engineered for HVAC, refrigeration, heat pump, and process cooling applications.
Their flat-tube aluminum construction provides high heat transfer rates, low internal volume, reduced refrigerant charge, and low airside resistance. Each unit can be manufactured to suit specific project requirements, including capacity, dimensions, airflow, connections, circuiting, and operating conditions.
These features make microchannel heat exchangers well suited for equipment where performance, space savings, customization, and energy efficiency are important.
Reliability and Service Life
Microchannel heat exchangers are designed for reliable long-term operation. Their aluminum alloy construction, brazed assembly, and optional protective coatings help improve durability and corrosion resistance.
When properly applied, installed, and maintained, microchannel coils can provide efficient performance and extended service life in demanding HVAC, refrigeration, and process cooling applications.

Microchannel Condensers
Their compact aluminum construction allows high thermal performance with a lower refrigerant charge compared with traditional tube-and-fin coils. They are suitable for applications using HFC, HFO, and natural refrigerants, and they provide good corrosion resistance and long service life
Microchannel Evaporators
Their design helps distribute refrigerant uniformly across the coil, improving heat transfer and operating efficiency under different load conditions. They can also be used in reversible heat pump systems where the coil must operate in both cooling and heating modes.
Microchannel Water Coils
Microchannel water coils use the same compact heat transfer technology for hydronic heating or cooling applications. They provide high heat transfer rates, lightweight construction, and reduced airside pressure drop. This can help reduce fan energy consumption while maintaining efficient coil performance. These coils are useful where space limitations, weight reduction, and energy efficiency are important design factors.
Serpentine Microchannel Coils
Serpentine microchannel coils are designed for compact condenser or evaporator applications. Their header less or reduced-header design minimizes internal volume, which is beneficial for systems using low-charge refrigerants. This design is especially useful in applications involving flammable or toxic refrigerants, such as propane or ammonia, where reducing refrigerant volume improves system safety and efficiency.
Replacement Microchannel Coils
Replacement microchannel coils are engineered to replace existing OEM heat exchangers in air-cooled chillers, condensers, and similar equipment. They are designed to match the required dimensions, connection arrangement, and performance of the original coil. This makes them a practical option for equipment repair, retrofit, or performance restoration without requiring major modifications to the existing unit.
